Also, please alert us if your child has any allergies (food or otherwise). Walk and Jot Nature Journaling One of the highlights of our writers’ workshops this past year has been our walkand
jot outings. It is inspiring to witness each child’s passion for
writing come to life through these expeditions. Upon returning to the
Lyceum, students will gather to share and workshop each other’s pieces.
One of our observed outcomes of nature journaling has been a developed
desire to use a rich vocabulary in one’s writing. Throughout the week,
students will be encouraged to express themselves both poetically and
through narrative. Opportunities to illustrate their ideas through
visual arts will also be recognized. Photo documentation of these
outings will be shared by email at the end of the week. Ages: 8 - 10 yearsDates: August 11 - 15 from 1:30 - 4:30 pm Cost: $200.00 + gstActing Out: A Mini Camp for Drama Enthusiasts

a hands-on exploration of perspective. Throughout the week, we will
examine What is perspective? What is the value of limited perspective? and What is the relationship between perspective and possibility?
Students will delve into the outdoors daily to capture moments in time
that they will bring back to the Lyceum to share, provoking thought,
wonder and curiosity amongst us. There will be ample opportunities to
express our learning through writing and art experiences. Students will
also leave with their own “perspective tool box” to continue building
their awareness about perspective. Ages: 10 - 12 yearsDates: July 21 - 25 from 9:00 - 12:00 pmCost: $210.00 + gstSelf-Portraits and the Impressionists

will be guided to make close observation of their faces using mirrors,
and to journey through many representations of their images using a
variety of media (pencil, pastel, collage and paint). Each student will
create and take home a large canvas self-portrait at the end of the

We will also briefly explore the shorelines of Twelfth Night and Titus Andronicus (both are also being performed at Vancouver’s Bard on the Beach).
