Lyceum Programming during the Olympics
For four days during the Olympic Winter Games, Christianne痴 Lyceum of Literature and Art will be holding day-long literature and art workshops that celebrate the literature and landscape of British Columbia. Dates: February 15, 16, 17, 18
Time: 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Ages: 5 to 8*
Cost: $50 per session

Join Christianne as she shares some of her favourite stories about British Columbia. Using the book Picturescape by Eliza Gutierrez, we値l talk about what drives a painter to paint, and share some of the stories of Emily Carr痴 most famous works. Then we値l get in on the action, creating our very own acrylic paintings on high-quality canvas. An inspiring day you won稚 want to miss!
Relief Clay LandscapesTuesday February 16, 2010
Through a variety of First Nations stories, we値l explore the coastalBritish Columbian landscape. From islands to ocean, mountains to rainforest, we値l touch on the animals and terrain that make our coastline so unique. We値l also discuss on our own responsibilities toward the environment and what we, as individuals can do. Thus inspired, we will create beautiful relief clay landscapes of British Columbia using polymer clay.
Make Your Own Personal MascotWednesday February 17, 2010
Inspired by the Olympic mascots, we値l design our own personal mascots, reflecting who we are and what we think is important. Through writing provocations, we値l create a history for our mascots and then with fleece, fabrics and buttons, we値l bring those histories to life, creating dynamic stuffed creatures to bring home.

On this day we値l create some truly original poetry and then turn our favourite poem into a fantastic work of art to hang on our bedroom wall. Through no-fail writing prompts, we値l create poems we can be proud of, choose our favourite poem to edit and then create a visual representation of the poem through collage on canvas. A keepsake to treasure for years to come!
